H. Wade Milhorn, age 63, of 221 Highway 19-E, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, May 31, 2003 at NHC Healthcare, Johnson City, following a lengthy illness.
A native of Piney Flats, he was a son of the late John Raymond "Bud" and Vasta Geisler Milhorn. He attended Rocky Springs Missionary Baptist Church, Piney Flats and was formerly employed by Polymer Industries, Piney Flats Industrial Park. Wade enjoyed life to the fullest. He coached several ball teams and umpired in different church leagues. Wade loved working with kids.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jeannie Milhorn of the home; the pride and joy of his life were his twin sons, Ryan and Bryan Milhorn, both of the home; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Junior and Ruby Milhorn, Piney Flats and Marshall and Ruth Milhorn, Piney Flats; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Tamera Surcey; four nieces, Pamela White, Marsha Kay Gosnell, Rebecca Milhorn and Kendra Surcey; two nephews, Eddie Milhorn and Anthony Milhorn; two great- nieces; and two great nephews also survive.
Everyone that came to know Wade loved him. He was a wonderful Christian, husband, father, friend and coach. He will be missed by all.
The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2003 in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home- Bluff City with the Rev. David Allen and Rev. Tommy Calloway officiating. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, from St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery, Piney Flats, with Rev. Eddie Milhorn and Rev. Claude Pennington
officiating. Those who wish to attend the graveside are requested to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday. Active pallbearers will be Randy Shipley, Charlie Smith, Wayne Smith, Jeff Johnson, Terry Johnson, Aaron Mason, Bill Mason, Arnold Wayne Shipley, Michael Shipley, and Ricky Milhorn. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. William Kincaid and nurses of Cloudland Blood Center, Dr. Larry Schmidt and nurses of the Gastrointestinal Association, nurses, CNA's, and staff of NHC Healthcare of Johnson City.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 2, in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City from 6:00 -- 8:00 p.m. or other times at the residence. Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.tetrickfuneralhome.com.
