VERLIN G. GEISLER, born Nov. 25, 1925 in Piney Flats, TN to William P. (b. 1892, d. 1959) and Gertrude Almarode Geisler (b. 1896 d. 1928), resided in Sullivan County, TN until age 17. In 1943 he moved to Tampa, FL where he worked for the Pullman Co. for the railroad until entering the USN in 1945.
After WWII he returned to Florida and lived there until 1949 when he moved to New Mexico because of bad health. He later moved to Las Vegas, NV where he worked for Atomic Energy. When that job played out he moved to Los Angeles, CA where he worked for Douglas Aircraft Co. He moved to Oklahoma City, OK and worked for an oil equipment company. This job played out because of a recession and being without a job, he became a carpenter and home repairman until his retirement in 1969 because of bad health.
Verlin first married Ilo Campbell, formerly of Johnson City, TN and had one daughter, Dottie.
His second marriage was to Thelma Rose (b. 1925, d. 1996), his loving wife of 43 years. They had three children: Ann Geisler, Timothy and Shirley Miller.

He was born Nov. 25, 1925, in Piney Flats, Tennessee, to William Preston and Gertrude (Almarode) Geisler.

He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and siblings, [Howard] Geisler, Paulene Johnson, Carl Geisler, Vasta Milhorn, and Dalton Geisler.
Survivors include his son, Tim Geisler of Oklahoma City; daughters, Ann Geisler and Shirley Miller, both of Shawnee, and Dorothy Pagano of Florida; step-children, Gary and Saran Grider of Arkansas and Alfred and Cheryl Hutchinson of Bethel; grandchildren, Jesse and Johnny Rodriguez, Chris, Nick, Matt, and McKenzie Geisler, Caty and Roy Harris, Nicky, Wendy, Lesieh, Brooke and Candy; six great-grandchildren with two on the way; and several step-grandchildren.
