Mrs. Janie Jackson left Sunday to visit her daughter, Mrs. Ed Money near Carwood. Three weeks ago Mrs. Jackson had two cancers removed, one under the arm and one on the breast. The wounds are doing nicely, one being entirely healed and the other almost. She says she is feeling fine and gaining in flesh.
OBITUARY
Margaret J. Jackson was born October 6th, 1852, died Thursday evening, January 27th, 1921, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Stewart, 711 West Market street, New Albany, age sixty seven years, four months and twenty-one days.
She was united in marriage to Zephaniah Jackson June 5, 1873, to this union was born eight children, five girls and three boys, all of whom are living. Mrs. Ed Money, Mrs. Wm. Crain, Mrs. Frank Roerk, Mrs. Walter Stewart, Mrs. Lee Bauers, Clarence, Claude and Fred Jackson. She also leaves besides her children, ninteen grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Alonzo Cooley, besides a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her departure. Her husband having preceded her to the goodly land seven years ago, Jan. 18th.
She united with the Christian Church when a young girl, and remained a faithful servant of her Master until death. She had suffered for the past four years, but always bore her suffering with patience. She was a kind mother, and all who knew her was to love her.
Her last words were "I want to live till all my children get to my bedside and then I am ready to go at my Master's call to be with Him." At her request she was taken to the old home at Bridgeport Saturday evening, from there to the United Brethren church from which place the funeral was held Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. M. E. Apple.

Alonzo C. Cooley was born at Little York, Scott County, Ind. Sept. 23. 1847, died Dec. 11th, 1925, aged seventy-eight years, two months and seventeen days.
He was united in marriage to Nancy M. Jackson Dec 1st, 1868, who survives him: To this union 4 sons were born: Steph. A. Cooley, and James E. Cooley, of New Albany; Chas. E. Cooley, whose whereabouts are unknown, and Bertie, who died in infancy; and One daughter, Mary E. Hagest, deceased. There are also 13 grandchildren living and four dead, nine great grand children, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his unexpected and tragic death.
He was united to the Muddy Fork Christian Church under the teaching of Milburn Littell in his youth, and held to the faith until the end.
He served his country in the war between the States under Capt. Ogden, Co., B. 144 Reg. Indiana Volunteer Infantry, and was mustered out of service at Stevens' Station, VA. in 1865.
He returned to Clark County, Indiana and remained a resident of this county until his death.
The funeral took place Sunday afternoon at the Bridgeport Christian Church, conducted by Evan Ottis W. Scott, and burial in Hickory Grove cemetery.

Mrs. J. H. Ashabranner Passes Away At Louisville Sanatorium

Mrs. Mary E. Ashabranner, wife of Dr. J. H. Ashabranner, 1320 East market street, prominent Eastern Star leader here, died Sunday night at Beechhurst Sanatorium, Louisville, where she had been taken for treatment for neuritis. Death resulted from acute uremic poisoning, from which she suffered two days.
Mrs. Ashabranner was widely known in Eastern Star circles of the city and State. She was one of the founders and the first worthy matron of LaBelle Chapter, O. E. S. She was also an active member of Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Ashabranner is survived by one brother, Crawford Robertson of Detroit.
The body will remain at the Mullineaux funeral parlors until noon Tuesday, when it will be taken to the family residence.

Alvin Robertson, 55, a former resident of New Albany, died at 11 o'clock Sunday morning at his home, 2110 Hill street, Louisville.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Robertson, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Albert Seebach of Louisville; his step-mother, Mrs. Alice Robertson, of New Albany; two brothers, Crawford Robertson of Detroit, and James Robertson of New Albany, and four sisters, Mrs. J. H. Ashabranner, Mrs. Lina Leismaster, Mrs. Lottie Hardy and Mrs. Belle Hand, all of New Albany. The body was removed to the funeral parlors of Thomas Mullineaux, undertaker.

Edward Whiteman had been previously married to Mary Elizabeth Roark. Martha and Edward had four children of their own. After Edward died on 3 Feb 1899, Martha Ellen put the four children from her marriage to Edward into the New Albany Orphanage. A note in the orphanage records states that the four children were related to Martha's brother, Thomas Wright of Henry County, Kentucky, and that they were also related to Walter Whiteman of New Albany, Floyd County, Indiana. Orphanage records also state that the oldest child, Arthur Thomas Whiteman was a half-brother to Odus and Edgar Robertson. There is no record of her putting Odus and Edgar into the orphanage. (They may have gone back to live with their father.) Martha Ellen removed her four children from the orphanage on 30 May 1903. She married John Murdock on 13 Feb 1904 in Floyd County, Indiana. She is listed as Ellen Whiteman on her death certificate.

Emily Scott Jackson, wife of J. Tyler Jackson, was born September 28, 1847, died January 6, 1918, at her home near Carwood, Ind.
She was maried to J. Jyler Jackson on December 24th, 1867, to this union was born one child, Zephra A. Jackson. She united with the Christian Church at Mount Edon at an early age. She placed her membership with the Muddy Fork Christian church in 1898, and remained a faithful member until death. She leaves four sisters, one brother, two half brothers, five grandchildren, and a host of friends to mourn their loss.
The funeral took place Tuesday conducted by the Rev Fred Goss, of Borden, and remains placed in the Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Funeral services for Zephra Jackson, 82, were conducted at Pleasant View E. U. B. Church, Sunday afternoon, with burial in hickory Grove cemetery. Mr. Jackson, who had lived most of his life in the Borden community, died on Thursday of a cerebral hemorrhage, and the body was brought to Littell Funeral Home here. Surviving are three sons, Roy, Guy and Carl Jackson, and one daughter, Mrs. Mary Kiebler.
