SEATTLE - LOUIS L. Goldsmith, 63, RKO office manager here, died in Maynard Hospital after a brief illness. Goldsmith had been with RKO for more than 20 years. Born in Baltimore, Goldsmith had owned and operated theatres in Seattle, Everett, Mount Vernon and Snohomish. Among the theatres he owned in Seattle were the Class A Theatre, later the Capitol, and the Society, now the Brodway. He also managed the Orpheum during its early years. He is survived by a daugher, Mrs. Meredythe Meller, a son, Melvin W. of the Post-Intelligencer editorial staff, and four grandchildren, all in Seattle.

Funeral services for Louis Lee Goldsmith, 63, office manager for R-K-O Radio Pictures, Inc., and a veteran Seattle theatre operator, will be held at 1 o'clock Thursday in the Bonney-Watson chapel. Cremation will follow.
Mr. Goldsmith died Sunday in a hospital after collapsing of a heart attack at his home, 915 E. Boston St.
Mr. Goldsmith came here in the early 1900's. He formerly owned the Class A Theater, now the Broadway. He also operated and owned theaters in Everett, Mount Vernon and Snohomish.
Mr. Goldsmith was born in Baltimore. he was a Mason, a member of Seattle Elks lodge No. 92, and the Variety Club and was a charter member of the Northwest Film Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Meredythe Meller, and a son, Melvin W. Goldsmith, both of Seattle, and four grandchildren.

Louis L Goldsmith, 63, one of the pioneers of Seattle's motion picture business, died Sunday in Maynard Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Goldsmith, 915 E. Boston Street, was office manager for RKO Radio Pictures Inc. He had been with that company for more than 20 years. He had been a Seattle resident since the early 1900s.
Born in Baltimore, Mr. Goldsmith started his career at an early age and learned the motion picture business by working in many different jobs through the years
OWNED THEATERS
He had owned and operated theaters in Seattle, Everett, Mount Vernon and Snohomish. Among the theaters he owned in Seattle were the Class A Theater, later the Capital, and the Society Theater, now the Broadway. He also managed the Orpheum during its early years.
Mr. Goldsmith was a member of the Masons, Elks Lodge No. 92 and Variety Club, and was a charter member of the Northwest Film Club. His wife, Dorothy died in 1947.
FUNERAL THURSDAY
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Meredythe Meller; a son, Melvin W. Goldsmith of The Post-Intelligencer editorial staff, and four grandchildren all of Seattle.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Bonney–Watson Co. chapel, followed by cremation.
