Lila Bitner Masengill, of Life Care Center of Greeneville, formerly of Chuckey, died late Saturday evening at the center.
Mrs. Masengill was a member of Chuckey Presbyterian Church, where she had served as pianist and a Sunday School teacher.
Those close to her said that her special interests included growing all types of flowers, and vocal and instrumental music.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law: Mildred Masengill of Greenville; two sisters-in-law: Mrs. Hal Bitner of Parrottsville and Lucille Masengill of Church Hill; one nephew; two nieces; a number of cousins; and her special caregivers: Mrs. Wanda Denney and family, and Helen Johnson and the staff of Cedar Wing of Life Care Center of Greeneville.
The family will receive friends 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Doughty-Stevens Chapel with interment in Chuckey Cemetery. The Rev. Woodrow Banks will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or charity of the donor’s choice.

Note: I have assumed that Lila is buried at the United Methodist Church Cemetery in Chuckey. Her parents are buried there.
