He was a Lawyer specializing in aviation law; served on the Tennessee Court of the Judiciary.4 He was educated Graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School (1941.)4 World War II, U.S. Coast Guard, aviator.4 OBITUARY - Kingsport Times-News, October 19, 2008
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Prominent Retired Attorney & Judge Dies.
Kingsport native Raymond H. Moseley, 87, who practiced law in Tennessee for more than half a century and served on the Tennessee Court of the Judiciary, has passed away following complications from heart disease.
A member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers, Moseley was a 1996 nominee for a seat on the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Moseley was born at home on Robertson Street in Kingsport in 1921, the sixth child of John and Polly Hale Moseley. A graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1941, he wanted to be a Naval Aviator, but lacked the requisite college degree, so he enrolled in the Coast Guard, which was required to submit 5% of its ranks for flight training. Moseley was one of only two men in the Atlantic Fleet who qualified for a "Mustang" commission based on a written exam. He went on to fly every prop-driven plane in the Naval arsenal and obtained the 38th helicopter license issued in the world. That crucial WW II experience as a fighter pilot and flight instructor would later inform his specialization in aviation law.
Honorary Chairman of the National Medal of Honor Museum and a 32nd degree Mason, Moseley was an elder in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. His lifelong loves were music, travel, storytelling and the study of history.
Moseley leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Lois Virginia Hawk Moseley, also a Dobyns-Bennett graduate (class of 1944), whom he met when he was an usher at the old State Theatre in Kingsport. Together they raised four children: Richard Paul Moseley of High Point, N.C. (wife Emily), Stephen Ray Moseley of Knoxville, Tenn. (wife Brenda), Robert Douglas Moseley of Fayetteville, Ark. and Diane Moseley Crabtree of Franklin, Tenn. (husband David). He also leaves behind nine beloved grandchildren.
Moseley will be buried Monday in Chattanooga, where he lived and worked for 46 years.
He will be laid to rest with full military honors at the National Cemetery following 12 noon visitation and 1 p.m. services at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church there.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be directed to the American Heart Association or Operation Smile.
Chattanooga Funeral Home, Hixson, Tenn. is in charge of arrangements.

COLBOCH-PRICE FUNERAL HOME
The Colboch-Price Funeral Home is located at 101 W. Main Street, Rogersville, Tennessee. It was established in 1941 by Ray Colboch and Randall Price. They purchased the funeral home from Wright Harrison. The funeral home was originally operated in the Masonic Lodge. Construction began on our current facility September 6, 1963 and opened early in 1964. Mr. Price's two sons, B.R. (Bud) and Rodney Price worked at the funeral home helping Mr. Colboch and Mr. Price. Bud and Rodney both graduated from John A. Gupton Mortuary College in Nashville and continued working with their father at Colboch-Price Funeral Home. As soon as Rodney graduated from college he was drafted into the U.S. Army and sent to Vietnam, where he worked in the mortuary in DaNang. Shortly after Mr. Randall Price's death on March 7, 1974, Bud and Rodney purchased Colboch-Price Funeral Home from Mr. Ray Colboch. They have continued the professional and caring standard exemplified to them by their father. Bud and Rodney have asked their nephew, Mark McNeil, who is also a graduate of John A. Gupton Mortuary College, to assist them in the daily running of Colboch-Price Funeral Home. Bud and Rodney are still very much a part of daily operations of Colboch-Price Funeral Home.
