Ellen Hamlin Feinberg passed away in San Diego on April 9, 2009, at the age of 93. She died of natural causes. Ellen was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, but lived a number of years both in Carson City and San Diego, Calif. Ellen survived four spouses, Carl Bashaw, Max Feinberg, Williard Hamlin and Duncan Davault. Imagine the reunion she had with her birth mother, father, her mother Evelyn and all who loved her as she reached God’s place. Ellen is survived by her son, Dave Feinberg of Sahvarita, Ariz., and daughters Barbara Bashaw Hempel, Elaine Bashaw; her grandchilden, Mike Bashaw, Kathren Darmody, Dean Elmquist, Craig Hempel, Carl Hempel, Gail Hempel, all from the San Diego area; Ashley Stucky of Las Vegas and Taelor Feinberg, currently residing in Kagashima, Japan. Her death brings sorrow to her extended families and great grandchildren. Ellen and her husband Max were known for their bakery business and shoe repair shop during the 1950s and 1960s. Prior to her retirement, Ellen worked at the Carson City Post Office and was a member of the Women’s Eagle Auxilliary. A celebration of her life will be attended by family and friends on her birthday May 30. Ashes will be scattered at La Jolla Cove, San Diego where she played as a young girl. This place reminds her family of her natural beauty and the blue of her eyes. The family takes comfort in knowing her ashes will join the flow of natural rocks, sea life, sand, trees, flowers and ocean water, only enhancing the beauty of the surroundings.
