Relatives Receive Posthumous Awards In Retreat Parade at Fort Harrison
The army decorated its own yesterday at a Fort Benjamin Harrison retreat parade, although the presentations were made posthumously to the nearest of kin by the post commander, Col. Henry E. Tisdale.

Mrs. Sandra DeFrane, 20, 1223 South Twenty-Sixth, suffered head injuries when her car struck a parked vehicle. She was treated in Home hospital. The accident was reported at 4:08 p.m. Saturday.
Police said Mrs. DeFrane's car was damaged about $300 in the mishap. The parked car, belonging to Charles Morris, 17, South Twenty-Sixth, was damaged about $150 police said.
The mishap occurred in front of Morris' residence. No arrest was made.

LaRoyce Cecil Clymer Becomes Bride of Dennis Lee Pearson
Miss LaRoyce Cecil Clymer and Dennis Lee Pearson, 2720 South St., exchanged marriage vows at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Evangelical United Church at Pyrmont. Parents of the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Francis A. Clymer and Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. Pearson, live on Rt. 4.
The Rev. Herbert LaPage officiated at the ceremony for which Miss Carolyn LaPage was organist and Hanns Goemmer was soloist. A church reception followed before the couple left on a honeymoon in Southern Indiana. They will live at 2720 South St. after Wednesday.
The bride's formal length gown had an Empire waist of satin and lace and the lace skirt featured a chapel length satin train. A tiara supported her elbow length veil and she carried a cascade of white roses surrounding a white orchid.
Mrs. Sandra DeFrane was her sister's maid of honor and Miss Brigette Spitznagle and Mrs. Gerald Gwinn were bridesmaids. They wore floor length dresses with trains of gold brocade that matched their Empire bodices. Their skirts were of yellow crepe. Dior bows supported their blusher veils and they carried colonial bouquets fo bronze chrysanthemums. Julia Ann DeFrane, niece of the bride, wore a similar outfit as flower girl.
Ronald Cripe of Delphi, nephew of the bridebroom, was ring bearer. Donald Evans was best man, and Michael Pearson of Ockley and Terry Kinzer of Flora, both cousins of the bridegroom were ushers.
The bride was graduated from East Tipp igh School as was the bridegroom.
OBITUARY - (Find-A-Grave)
Sandra A. (Clymer) Switzer, 74, of Lafayette, formerly of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away on February 2, 2014 at her home. Born February 8, 1939 in Lafayette, she was the daughter of the late Francis Alvin and Edna (Miller) Clymer. Sandra graduated from Monitor High School in Lafayette.
Sandra married John Switzer in 1970, and he preceded her in death.
She ran her own women's apparel business for over 40 years with a passion for design.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her children, Chris F. Switzer (wife, Emma) of Colorado Springs, CO and Julie Day of Florida; a sister, LaRoyce Pearson (husband Dennis) of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Jonathan Hawkins, Courtney Crawford, Christopher Hawkins, Samantha Switzer and Emma Switzer and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Kayden Crawford.

Not All Exhibits at Fair Under 4-H Classification
The affair at the County Fairgrounds last week was known as the Tippecanoe County 4-H Exhibit, but it wasn't all 4-H.
There was also a section of the fair for youngsters on the county's Farm Bureau families -- they had their own pet, hobby and flower competition.
Results of the competition have been announced by Mrs. Baker Bartley, county pet and hobby leader.
She said the various pet and hobby clubs are made up of children up to 10 years of age in Farm Bureau families.
While their parents conduct their regular meetings, the children have their club sessions, with devotions, safety lessons, story time, crafts and, time permitting, games.
In addition, said Mrs. Bartley, "they try to do something for shut-ins and less fortunate persons at least four times a year."
