It was with sad regret we learned of the death of Mr. John Hannah of your city. The bereaved have our sympathy.

Mr. John W. Hannah.
Mr. John W. Hannah, aged 83, died at his home on Depot and Irish streets, Sunday morning at 2:30, after an illness of several days. Funeral services were conducted from the Cumberland Presbyterian church by Rev. Ritter, of Washington College, and Rev. Clemens. The choir was composed of Miss Louise Trim, soprano; Miss Julia Maloney, alto; Mr. Albert Susong, tenor; Mr. Walter Brown, bass. Miss Trim sang, “We Shall Meet Him Face to Face.”
After the services at the church the remains were taken in charge by Mr. T. W. Stevens of the Doughty-Stevens Co., and conveyed to Shiloh, where burial took place. There were many beautiful floral tributes.
The honorary pall bearers were: A. J. Frazier, J. W. Willis, James Armitage, Dr. E. B. Smith, W. A. Susong and J. S. Maloney. Active pall bearers were: W. C. Waddell, John McDonald, Doak Bitner, Frank McCray, Sam Leming and W. H. Armitage.
Mr. Hannah has been very active during his entire life and was well known over East Tennessee. For the past few years he has spent the winters in Florida. He is survived by Chas. Hannah, Johnson City; J. Frank Hannah, Cleveland; Hugh Hannah, Knoxville; Mrs. Alfred Armitage, Umatilla, Fla., and Mrs. A. W. Susong of this city.
The Searchlight joins many friends in extending sympathy.

ANDERSON - A memorial service for the family and friends of Julia Hayes Mizell, 90, of Morningside Assisted Living in Anderson, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2002. The McDougald Funeral Home is in charge.
Mrs. Mizell died Thursday, February 7, 2002 in the Hospice House in Anderson. Born in Bristol, Tenn., September 17, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Melvin A. Hayes and the late Sallie De Vault Hayes. She was married to the late Clyde Mike Mizell. She had retired as a sales associate from J.C. Penney Company in Anderson where she had worked for 20 years. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her son, Hayes Mizell of Madison, N.J.; sisters, Melvin Amos of Holden Beach, N.C. and Mae Bulla of High Point, N.C.; grandchildren, Sally Lipe, Elizabeth Mizell and Mark Mizell.
