ELMO M. FORNEY
Elmo M. Forney, 75, who resided at the home of his niece, Mrs Austin Noble, 221 North George street, died this morning at 2:45 o'clock in the Hanover General Hospital, where he was a patient one day. He had been ill one week. He as a son of the late Ezra W. and Ada Snodgrass Forney and retired 25 years ago as a silk weaver, his wife , Fannie Hamm Forney, died seven years ago. Surviving is one brother, Abner E. Forney, 19 Pleasant street. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the William A. Feiser funeral home. Carlsle street. The rev. Dr. Harry Hursh Beidleman, past or of St. Matthew's Lutheran church, will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday evening at the Feiser funeral home.

Note: In some genealogies Elmo was shown married to Katherine "Kate" Green. In 1910, this family was living in Cordova Twp., Rock Island Co., Illinois. Evidence has come to light showing that this connection was in error. That Elmer Forney was John Elmer Forney and he was from Franklin, Pennsylvania.

AUCOIN, IRVING
Irving "Bill" Claude Aucoin, 46, a native of Bourg, La., and resident of Hahnville, La., died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010.
Mr. Aucoin was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville. He worked as a shipfitter for 32 years at Northrop Grumman Ship Systems in Avondale.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Julie C. Aucoin of Hahnville; father, Richard C. Aucoin; mother, Roberta Bellamy (George) Wasdin; brother, Jason Earl DeVault; sisters, Phyllis Aucoin, Evelyn Niel, Paula Aucoin, Betty DeVault and Kathy Smith; nine stepbrothers and sisters; as well as nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Irving J. Aucoin; and brother, Michael Light.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at St. Ann Catholic Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
He will be buried at St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her son, Jason DeVault (wife Connie), stepsons, Terry, Earl, Neal, Al and Andy Wasdin, daughters, Janice Cox, Evelyn "Sissy" Neil, Kethy Smith (husband Hilton Sr.), Betty DeVault, Phyllis Portier (husband Jack) and Paula Aucoin (fiancé Eric Williams); stepdaughters, Barbara Brown, and Debbie and Sherrie Wasdin; sisters-in-law, Kay Milam, and Hazel and Ann Bellamy; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, George J. Wasdin, parents, Claude Titus and Grace Nevada Collier Bellamy, sons, Richard "Mike" Light and Irving "Bill" Aucoin, stepdaughter, Carolyn Wasdin, brothers, Jim, Howard and Bill Bellamy; and sisters, Alberta, Lucille, Jeal and Pauline Bellamy.
Services were held on March 7 at Samart Mothe Funeral Home of Houma with burial following at Rogers Cemetery in Houma.

She was a loving mother, caring wife, devoted to her family and will be sadly missed.

Mrs. Elmo M. Forney
Mrs. Jennie May Forney, wife of Elmo M. Forney, Hamilton township, New Oxford R.D. 1, died this afternoon at 12:30 o'clock form the effects of a stroke. She was aged 69 years. Mrs. Forney was a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Stump Hamm, and was born April 2, 1873. Surviving are her husband, one sister, Mrs. John Storm, Locust street, Hanover and two brothers, Albert Hamm, Manchester, Pa., and Samuel Howard Hamm, Abbotstown. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the W. A. Feiser funeral home, Carlisle street. The Rev. B. K. Mower, retired Lutheran minister will officiate. Burial will be made in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Friends may call at the feiser funeral home Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock.
Note: Jennie is listed as Fannie in all census records.
