Mr. Kacherian was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 18, 1926 to the late Mark and Ida (Carnes) Kacherian.
He graduated from Shoals High School in 1944 and entered the United States Navy where he served his country from 1944-46.
He married Madonna Ruth Akard on October 5, 1947.
Haig was a real estate broker and employed with A.H.M. Graves Realtors in Indianapolis and U.S. Homes in Florida.
Survivors include: His wife of 63 years, Madonna Kacherian of Kendallville,

SHERIDAN, Ind. -- Walter Akard, 84, died in a Noblesville, Ind., hospital Monday afternoon.
He was a native of Piney Flats, Tenn., and was the son of the late Henry and Sarah Smith Akard.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Glennie Akard, Sheridan; two sons, Kenneth Akard, also of Sheridan and Robert Akard, Kokomo, Ind., and Mrs. Ruth Anna Breedlove, Los Angeles, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Lola Phillips, Piney Flats, Miss Minnie Akard, Bristol Tennessee and Mrs. Edith Pet Doane, Blountville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Walter Akard
SHERIDAN -- Walter Akard, 84, Sheridan, died Monday afternoon in Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He had been in ill health for the past few years.
Born March 11, 1887, in Piney Flats, Tenn, he was the son of Henry and Sarah (Smith) Akard. He was married in 1909 to Bertha Friley who preceded him in death in 1961. In 1962, he was married to Glennie Waitt who survives.
He has been a farmer in the Sheridan community most of his life.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Akard, Kokomo, and Kenneth Akard, Sheridan; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Fox, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Ruthanna Breedlove, Los Angeles, and five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Henshaw Funeral Home in Sheridan. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery near Sheridan.

Final Rites for Perry Akard Set Wednesday
Last honors will be paid to Perry Akard, 66, 112 West Belle Terrace, long-time resident of Bakersfield at funeral services Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Greenlawn Mortuary Chapel. Mr. Akard, a cement mason foreman, retired from his employment a year ago because of ill health. His death occurred Saturday morning at a Bakersfield hospital.
Mr. Akard had worked for Griffith Construction Co., in both Bakersfield and Long Beach and he was among those supervising the first improvements on Highway 99 and Chester Avenue. He was born June 14, 1892, in Tennessee, but spent the greater part of his life in California.
He came to Bakersfield in 1912 and in 1925 went to Long Beach to work for Griffith Co., there. He returned to Bakersfield in 19?? and continued in his work until a year ago. He was a lifelong member of Cement Masons Local 191.
The funeral rites will be conducted by the Rev. James Fleming of the Mennonite Church at the Greenlawn Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
He is survived by his widow, Anna, who resides at the family home; by his son, Weldon, of Compton; daughters, Mrs. Winifred Hutchinson of Bakersfield and Mrs. Frances McClure of Hawthorne; by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by a brother, Henry Enos Akard of Burbank, and a sister, Lola Phillips of Piney Flats, Tenn.; and by several half-brothers and sisters residing in Tennessee and Indiana.
Pallbearers will include John Fidler, Frank Fidler, L. Karver, Howard Garlinger and Ora Johnson.

Joannes Hermannus "Herman" LaTour was born in 1700.¹ He and Catherina Barbara Spickler were married on 16 February 1750 in Warwick, Pennsylvania.¹ He died in 1774, at age ~74, in Mount Joy, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania.¹

Joannes Hermannus "Herman" LaTour had reference number 23422. He resided in Pennsylvania (1749.) Herman Latture (La Tour) arrived in Philadelphia on the ship Phoenix on September 15 1749. He, being a Huguenot, left Germany to escape the persecution of the Huguenots. (See "Memorials of the Huguenots in America," by Stapleton.)
He first settled in Warwick Township (near Bickerville), Pennsylvania. There, on February 26, 1750, he married Barbara Spickler. The Spicklers were German. Herman, his wife and daughter Susannah, were baptized on July 7, 1751, by Rev. John Casper Stoever, an noted Lutheran Missionary.
Later he moved to Mount Joy, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania where he died in 1774. His will, written in German, is recorded in Book B, Volume 1, page 704; English translation, Box X, page 399, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
