GALLIPOLIS — Mary A. Large, 95, of Gallipolis, passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio.
She was born Feb. 13, 1919, the third of seven children to Jacob and Pearl Goodman in Piney Flats, Tenn. She graduated from North High School, in Columbus, and attended Rio Grande College. Mary was a lifetime member of Eastern Star Vinton Chapter 374 and a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Gallipolis. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, and she was elected 2014 Jackson County Senior Citizen Fair Queen.
She married G. W. Large on Jan. 8, 1941, to whom three children were born: William F. (Beth) Large, of Brentwood, Tenn., Peggy L. (Don) Call, of Rio Grande, Ohio, and Patty J. (Maurice) Toler, of Bidwell; seven grandchildren: Page (Heather) Large, of Franklin, Tenn., David (Heather) Large, of Brentwood, Jeff (Jennifer) Call, of Wilmington, N.C., Jerry (Yuko) Call, of Cheney, Wash., Jason W. Call, of Cincinnati, Mat (Amy) Toler, of Porter, Ohio, and Tricia (Will) Luckeydoo, of Gallipolis; step-grandson C.I. Large Jr., of Columbus; eight great-grandchildren: Allie and Lacie Large, Joshua, Ryan and Lindsey Large, Megumi Call, Katherine Call and Rees Toler; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, G. W.; and husband Ray Beaver (whom she married in 1970); as well as all of her brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, with the Revs. Michael Lynn, Douglas Downs and Will Luckeydoo officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park.
Eastern Star Services will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. by Vinton Chapter 374. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from noon until time of services Friday.

Cathryn Jean Glover, age 80, of Johnson City, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012, at NHC of Johnson City.
She was born in Columbus, Ohio, a daughter of the late Jacob and Edna Pearl Booher Goodman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Glover; three brothers; and two sisters.
She was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Louise Ferguson; one son, Wayne Glover; nine grandchildren, Lori Ferguson Shaffer, Richard Lynn Ferguson, Kimberly Ferguson, Dewayne Glover, Melissa Buchanon, Michelle Woomer, Timothy Wayne Glover, Kenneth Barger and Keith Barger; twenty-two great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Beaver.
The funeral service for Mrs. Glover will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 2, 2012, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City, with Jackie Bradley officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:45 PM prior to the service.
The committal service and interment will be conducted at Goodmans Cemetery, Piney Flats, TN, following the service. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons.

Augustus C. McClelland, 80, who lives in the Hotel California, was seriously injured last night when his car rammed a parked sedan at Kern and L Streets.
He told police he was wiping the foggy windshield and his car drifted into a parked car belonging to Newman Lousarian of 277 N. Blackstone Ave. McClelland is in the Fresno General Hospital with internal injuries.

Nelis was born (Cornelius)but his name was changed to Nelis Carl. He was the son of John W. and Mary Jane (Curry) Wilkins. Nelis was the brother of: Kathryn, Homer Franklin, Roy William "Bill", Clarence Adam "Jack", and Elmer Lewis "Pete".
After the death of both of his parents in 1919, he lived with his sister, Kathryn and her husband, Ovid Tillison.
He worked for several Moral Township farmers until he moved to Indianapols to live and work.

He was born on April 6, 1929 in Indianapolis, IN to Nelis and Viola R. Wilkins.
Ray was a member of Masonic Lodge #564, VFW #5626, Indianapolis Coin Club, Capitol City Conservation Club, the National Rifle Association, and National Muzzle Loading Association. He retired from Link Belt in 1989 where he worked as a Press Operator.
Ray is survived by his son, Jerry Wilkins; daughter, Brenda Kernodle; sisters, Nancy Wilkins, Janie Rosebrock, and Doris Smith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Wilkins.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011 in the Patriot's Court Chapel at Washington Park East Cemetery.
