Gladys W. Jenkins, 83, 813 Dyer St., Johnson City, died Wednesday, February 22, 2006, at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. Mrs. Jenkins was born in Columbus, OH, on December 11, 1922. She was a daughter of the late Edmond and Ida Lower Wyatt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Jenkins, in 1983; one sister, Helen L. Wyatt. Survivors include four sons, Eddie L. Jenkins, Gray, Van Jenkins, Johnson City, James B. Jenkins, AR, and Johnny K. Jenkins, Kingsport; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary R. DeVault, Johnson City, and Gertrude Francis, NC; two step-sisters, Myrtle Banks and Anna Mae King, both of Johnson City; and two adopted step-brothers, John Isenberg, NC, and Vernon Isenberg, Johnson City. Mary Ruth Wyatt DeVault, 90, of Tusculum formally from Johnson City, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Durham Hensley. She was born on December 1, 1924 in Johnson City, TN.
Ruth, as she was called by friends and family, was employed by Leon Fernbach textile company for 59 years. She was also a Avon representative for decades.
Mary Ruth attended New Haven Church as her health permitted.

Sixteen great-grandchildren, Paul DeVault, Amanda Carrera, Michael Bales, Matthew Carrera, Dakoda Carrera, James Patrick DeVault, Kristen Bales, Amber Ruth DeVault, Cassi Eggert, Jessi Shelton, Shanna McDannald, Spencer Goddard, Rachel Goddard, Andrew Goddard, Abbie Villeneuve and Haley Gaby
Ten great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Two very special friends Ava Park and Lexus Batts, and her loyal canine companion, Shadow.
PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY: She was preceded in death by her husband, Justin DeVault, Sr., Parents, Edward Wyatt and Ida Isenberg and two sisters Gladys Jenkins and Helen Wyatt.
Pallbearers Will be family and friends.
REMARKS: The family and friends will receive friends at Jeffers Funeral Chapel at Afton, Monday, May 11, From 6 to 7:30 with a brief service at 7:30.

Note: Ruth's father was Edmond Wyatt. Often reported as "Stanish," it appears that Ruth's step-daughter's name is Margaret Eugenia (DeVault) Standish.
