Auburn, Illinois, the daughter of Leonard Aaron and Ma Belle Virginia (Smith) Davidson. "Dean" graduated from high school and later attended Business College. She was the Director of Human Services for Denver/Colorado's Arapahoe County for eleven years. During this time she was instrumental in the implementation of many senior programs that still exist today. One of the more recognizable would be Meals on Wheels. She was also Head of Security for Boy's Markets out of Los Angeles. In earlier years, she traveled the country demonstrating Singer's first electric sewing machine and giving sewing classes. She moved to Arizona in 1933 and has been a member of the Central United Methodist Church while living in Phoenix. At the age of 84, she met and married Ernest E. Cannon. Ernest preceded her in death in February of 1997. Survivors include: her son and daughter-in-law, Hal and Cathy Schupp of Eufaula, OK; her daughter and husband, Beverly and Bob Heaton of Atascadero, California; step-daughter and husband, Betty and Gus Knoche of Phoenix, Arizona; former daughter-in-law, Kay Cusack of Denver, CO; her sister-in-law, Isobel Davidson of Phoenix, AZ; her sister-in-law, Frances Schupp of Palmdale, CA; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren numbering 74 in all.

Palmyra. Jesse Albert Smith passed away suddenly at his home Sunday morning of heart trouble. He has been connected with the First State Bank in Palmyra for thirty years and was cashier for the past fifteen years. Mr. Smith was a member of the Baptist church, the Knights of Pythias, the A.F. & A.M., and has for a number of years been Worthy Patron of the O.E.S. He was a member of the Shrine in Springfield. He leaves his widow, Irene, son William Pierce, and his mother, Mrs. Minnie Smith, and the following sisters: Mesdames Ethel Lakin and Mabel Davidson, of Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Laura James of Belton, Texas, and one brother, Byron, of St. Louis. The funeral was held Wednesday at 1 p.m., from the residence. Rev. R.E. Stevenson officiating; burial in Oak Hill cemetery. The Masonic order officiated at the grave.
